Goriška Brda preserves and develops its rich heritage, protects its natural beauty and knows how to captivate visitors by inviting them to visit castles, presenting ethnological features from the lives of locals, introducing customs and speaking in their characteristic dialect. It does not matter when you visit the Goriška Brda hills, because the local top-quality winemaking, traditional cuisine and olive oil industry, which will fascinate even the most demanding individuals, intertwine in every season.
Not far, i.e. where the central Slovenia passes into the Friulian Plain, you can visit the Vipava valley and one of the many wine cellars or, as the locals call them, “hram”, where you absolutely must try a glass of pinela, zelen, klarnica and pikolit, all autochthonous Vipava varieties and the highest proof of the quality and speciality of Vipava wines that will, accompanied by Vipava prosciutto and Nanos cheese, take you on an amazing culinary journey.
